Big Changes Afoot
More on this topic soon, but for now...
Today’s post is a little different than my usual – and that’s because I have a big announcement – which is that I am closing the major arms of my retail business (online, wholesale and my shop at Cargo) in mid-June this year. I opened my retail business nearly 20 years ago in 2007, and we have grown from a tiny one-person operation to a multi-dimensional business with tens of thousands of sales of many hundreds of products, four payroll employees and several devoted, long-time freelancers. It’s been a wonderful, fulfilling journey, both creatively and personally. Working with my incredible team who have shown up every single day committed to our mission and vision has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am excited to move into a simpler life and business. This decision is a reflection of where I am in my journey and an effort to honor what feels the most important to me right now. I look forward to more spaciousness, creativity, and flexibility in my life and work. As I wrote on December 31, more honoring what the heart wants.
While this chapter is closing, I’ll continue to do client commissions and licensing, creating, exhibiting and selling fine art, and co-running the education program I founded with Emily McDowell. I will keep a very small online shop with limited edition serigraphs and occasional drops of goodies, including original art. I’m also writing my next book this year (more on that here very soon)! I’ll still be on Instagram, send a twice monthly newsletter and share my writing here on Substack.
My current online shop with all the offerings will remain open till the middle of June and my shop at Cargo (in Portland) will close at the end of May. We’ll be releasing three commemorative prints as a way of celebrating this transition, starting with To End is to Honor the Journey, which is one of my mantras for this change. My operations and creative leaders, Amy and Erika, will be looking for new work as we close these parts of my business, and I’ll be sharing more about their tremendous skills and talents in the coming days.
I’ll be sharing detailed information about the closing and associated events as we go.
My retail business absolutely could not have existed (and thrived) over the past twenty years without all of you who have supported me and my business since I started. I am enormously grateful for your patronage.
With endless appreciation,
Lisa

Congratulations, Lisa. Everything changes, and being open to that is freeing. I’m sure this transition is bittersweet for you and your team, and I wish you all well on the way to June. May there be a big summer vacation in your future!
I love this for you. Your words and your work surround me. They’ve helped me move through some challenging times. They continue to inspire me and make me smile. All the best to you on your journey, Take care.
