2026: Let's Do This
I know now, after fifty years, that the finding/losing, forgetting/remembering, leaving/returning, never stops. The whole of life is about another chance, and while we are alive, till the very end, there is always another chance. -Jeanette Winterson
HAPPY NEW YEAR, FRIENDS! Part of what I love about the transition to a new year is that it is an opportunity to take stock, to have a fresh start, to change, hone, strengthen, repair. Each year, the week before the new year, I start writing. I’m never sure where it will go. It’s always the stuff about my year that I loved, the stuff that was hard and what I learned. Like most people, I’m also thinking about how I want to exist differently going forward — how I want to feel, what I want to do differently, how I want my life to change for the better. This week, I decided to make a More/Less list. This concept was conceived and popularized by artist & writer Julia Rothman, who wanted to find a way to capture her desires for the coming year that focused less on improvement and more on simply what she wanted more or less of. My version is framed in More/Less corollaries, which is a slightly different take than most of the More/Less lists I’ve seen, but this is where my head went when I began the process.
I’ve written a bit on Instagram about the fact that my nervous system has been pretty dysregulated this year, and I have been doing a lot of work to unpack what is going on for me, and what needs to shift in my life so that I can feel calm and grounded again. This list captures a lot of what I have discovered so far, and what I where I want to focus my energy as I move forward. I hope I can continue to write about and share my experience with these shifts over the coming year.
I hope everyone has a peaceful transition into 2026. May we all believe in the promise of our futures.

Wishing you a wonderful new year with all the clarity and grounding you hope for. This year has been a tough one and I love the idea of more/ less. Here’s to more of the good stuff!
Writing is therapy. So I am sure it is going to help you do more of some stuff and less of others. And if you have time, go around here, scroll Notes, discover some new artists. I have been doing it for the last 2 years and I have met some nice people, away from the trashy algo we are used to from IG. Have a great 2026 Lisa :)
